Thursday 5th December 2024 – ONLINE ONLY
Despite the committee’s best efforts, it has not proved possible to secure our intended venue and so the third GASG meeting of the year will now be online only. We were early adopters of the online format back in the days of lockdown, and strive to replicate the in-person experience as far as possible. Our audience can put questions directly to the speaker as well as typing into the chat, and we will provide meeting “rooms” to come together in small groups (including speakers) over lunch. All members have 2 free spaces at online meetings and corporate members have 10; additional spaces are also available for a small charge by emailing us at [email protected]. Why not take the opportunity to extend invitations across your organisation for some free staff/student development – and maybe share some mince pies and a few festive decorations?
We have now finalised the programme – and there is an exceptional line-up of speakers on cutting edge topics relating to gas sensing and analysis for human health. The programme features Grant Ritchie (University of Oxford) talking on cardiopulmonography and Matthew Turner (Loughborough University) describing the difficulties of breath analysis. Nicola Carslaw (University of York) will discuss indoor air pollution and Dan Francis (Cranfield University) will describe optical technologies for gas and volatile detection. We also have presentations from Steven Campbell (Imperial College, London) on High time resolution quantification of PM2.5 oxidative potential and Ryan Guterman (FaradaIC Sensors, Berlin) will present work on Miniaturizing electrochemical gas sensors with Micro-ElectroChemical-Systems (MECS) technology.
It promises to be a fascinating day and we hope you will be able to join us. The programme and registration form are now available here.
