Thursday 20th March 2025 – Crowcon Detection Instruments, Abingdon
(Online Availability Subject To Confirmation)
We are pleased to announce our 5th Early Career Forum and 90th Meeting, to take place in person at Crowcon’s excellent facilities on 20th March 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for early career staff and students in your organisation to present their work and network with others in the field, so please do encourage them to submit an application. Our requirements are not onerous: there is no written paper to provide, just a short abstract and tweet (we will tweet this using our GASG account on the day). Talks are shorter than our regular meetings at up to 15 minutes, and as usual we like to publish the slides on the members’ section of our website after the event (with permission, and redacted if necessary).
We are looking for presentations concerning:
- new sensors, instruments, analytical methods, components, modelling and results
- detection and measurement of gases, volatile species, particles and aerosols
- policy, practice and legislation issues
- applications including environmental monitoring, industrial safety, security, food and agriculture, healthcare, transport, manufacturing and quite frankly anything else you can think of
Previous Early Career events have be very well-received, popular and have become a regular fixture. So please also keep this date in your diary and plan to attend. Having a larger number of shorter talks, these meetings are usually fast-paced and extremely varied to provide a snapshot of the latest up-and-coming research and new technology.
The Gas Analysis and Sensing Group has this wonderful strength in bringing together people in the field across different sectors including sensor, instrument and component manufacturers, end users, R&D, academics and consultants. This gives us a reach into the “real world” that few other events can match, and that will hopefully broaden the horizons of our attendees.
Attendance is at reduced rates for presenters of accepted papers and one other person from their organisation.
Further details and application forms can be found HERE.
Please send your applications by 10th January 2025, to [email protected]
We hope to see you all there!
