Thursday 20th March 2025 – Crowcon Detection Instruments, Abingdon
We are delighted to announce that our 5th Early Career Researcher Forum, one of the most successful meetings that we hold, will take place on Thursday 20th March at Crowcon Detection Instruments in Abingdon.
Gases. Face masks. Humidity. VOCs. Pollen. Low-cost sensor networks. Rust. Infection. Respirable fibre. Optical fibre. AI. Welding. E-noses. NDIR. This meeting has it all!
Come to see a diverse snapshot of the best research in gas, VOC and particle detection in the UK, given by the people who, let’s face it, do an awful lot of the work. Talks will be shorter and snappier than our regular meetings and what’s even better is that, with an open topic, you never quite know what you will get.
Our Plenary speaker for the event is Norman Ratcliffe, who following retirement from a long and distinguished career in VOC research using both GCMS and low-cost commercial sensors, will give a lecture on the past, present and future of volatile analyses for disease diagnoses. I bet he has some stories to tell….
We are now finalising the programme but you can already sign up to attend via the link below.
Following consultation with members we are trialling this meeting in a face-to-face ONLY format, with no online attendance. We will attempt to record the talks (audio only) for future use by members but this cannot be guaranteed due to IT support issues. However, presentation slides will continue to be available through the members section of the website provided that speaker permission can be obtained.
So put the date in your diaries, and join us to hear from – and support – the next generation.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
